Job Title: Cake Decorator
Department: Production
Reports to: Executive Pastry Chef

Summary:

As a cake decorator, you are responsible for the preparation and presentation of cakes, which are often produced as one-of-a-kind baked goods. You must possess creativity, organizational ability, and a good deal of energy. Your creativity should lend itself to tying the cake into a client's theme.

Responsibilities:

• Designs, bakes, and garnishes cakes for customers
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
• Comply with dress code requirements including uniform, name badge & hair net
• Receiving deliveries
• Prioritizing
• Work as part of a team unit
• Cleans the bakery equipment: oven, decorating utensils, workstation
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• A background in the culinary arts, specifically in the pastry arts
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical demands and abilities

• Frequently walking with some standing at times, possibly extended distances; ability to bend and climb stairs when necessary
• Frequently lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
• Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly
